Michael Carrick has no intention of letting Gary Neville's public criticism of his Manchester United players go unanswered.

Details: Following Manchester United's humiliating 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth, Gary Neville launched a fierce attack on several players during the Sky Sports podcast, accusing them of unprofessional behaviour and failing to uphold the club's standards.

Neville did not hold back:

"There are a few players who don't go to bed at the right time, don't eat the right things and don't live and breathe Manchester United. The standards have gone."

The former defender did not identify any specific players.

During his press conference ahead of the Chelsea clash, Carrick was asked whether he had personally witnessed any unprofessional behaviour among his players since returning to the club. His response was emphatic:

"No, I haven't."

When a journalist followed up by asking whether Neville's public accusations had surprised him, Carrick delivered another sharp response:

"Gaz says a lot of things."

Despite the growing pressure on his position, Carrick has publicly defended his squad and insisted that he remains fully united with his players. His remarks come ahead of a crucial Premier League encounter against Chelsea.

It is worth noting that Manchester United have failed to win any of their last eight matches across all competitions, recording five defeats and three draws. The Red Devils currently sit 16th in the Premier League with seven points from eight games.
