Bruno Fernandes scores his first hat-trick for Portugal after more than a year without a goal
The Portugal national team secured their place at the 2026 World Cup after a commanding victory over Armenia. Cristiano Ronaldo missed this match, but Portugal still had plenty of firepower up front.
The final whistle confirmed a 9-1 triumph for the Iberians. Renatu Veiga, Francisco Conceição, and Gonçalo Ramos all found the net, while João Neves and Bruno Fernandes each notched a hat-trick.
The Manchester United captain not only scored three times (twice from the penalty spot) but also provided an assist. This was Bruno Fernandes' first-ever hat-trick for Portugal, taking his international goal tally to 28. Remarkably, he had not scored for the national team in over a year. He also now has 22 assists, bringing his combined goals and assists to an impressive 50 for Portugal.
