Santos star Neymar took to his Instagram Stories with a touching post to wish his friend Lionel Messi a happy birthday.
The Brazilian shared a photo of himself warmly embracing the Argentinian, captioning it, “Happy birthday, brother ❤️,” highlighting the strong bond he shares with the Inter Miami player.
It’s worth recalling that Neymar and Messi played together at Barcelona from 2013 to 2017. During that period, they clinched the 2015 Champions League title, two La Liga championships, the UEFA Super Cup, three Copa del Rey trophies, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the Spanish Super Cup.
The duo were also teammates from 2021 to 2023 during their stint at French giants PSG.
It was the competition with Messi that prompted Neymar to leave Barcelona for PSG. The Brazilian wanted to take center stage, rather than always playing second fiddle to Leo.
However, the move to France didn’t pay off for Neymar, as he couldn’t outshine Messi or achieve his dream of winning the Ballon d’Or and the Champions League in Paris.
