Broos no longer wants to rely on veteran Mamelodi Sundowns players in the South Africa national team

Since taking charge of the South Africa national team in 2021, Belgian coach Hugo Broos has leaned on Mamelodi Sundowns as the core club for Bafana Bafana. But with many of those players now over 30, it's time for a change.

They have helped us a lot in the past, but as you know, I'm not a coach who only looks at the top teams when selecting players... I always consider other clubs as well.

Some Sundowns players are already over 30, so we must think about the future. We will play without Sundowns players against Tanzania and Mozambique. Hopefully, we can find other players from different clubs, because having too many players from one team is not ideal. That's why I'm very interested to see what players from other teams can do in these friendlies," Broos stated.
