Broadcast giants Canal+ announce PSL sponsorship
Canal+ has confirmed it is continuing with its partnership with Premier Soccer League to broadcast the Betway Premiership.
The French company took over MultiChoice which was the company that had an agreement with the PSL before Canal+ bought it.
It was feared that Canal+ may cancel the existing deal after acquiring MultiChoice late last year.
But both parties have now revealed that the partnership continues.
“Football institutions are built through consistency, responsible stewardship and strong relationships,” said PSL chairman Dr Irvin Khoza.
“Together, the PSL and SuperSport have worked to grow the game, strengthen our clubs and bring South African football to audiences across the continent.”
CANAL+ Africa CEO David Mignot also sounded a pleased man regarding he deal.
“The continued success of South African club football is reflected in one of the most competitive Betway Premiership seasons in recent memory, with the title only being decided on the final matchday," said Mignot.
“Having operated on the African continent for more than three decades, we know the importance of football and what it means to viewers.”
