Bringing back former glory! Official: Michael Carrick appointed as new Manchester United head coach
The heart of Manchester has been called upon to reverse the team’s run of poor form.
Details: Today, on Manchester United’s official page on social network X, it was announced that 44-year-old former player Michael Carrick has officially taken over as the team’s head coach.
It is reported that the agreement between Carrick and Manchester United runs until the end of the season, with an option to extend the contract.

Previously, Michael Carrick already had coaching experience at Manchester United, serving as caretaker manager from November to December 2021.
Carrick’s most recent role was as manager of Middlesbrough, a position he left in the summer of 2025.
Michael Carrick spent 12 years at Manchester United as a player, ending his playing career in 2018.
He made 464 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 24 goals and providing 35 assists.
