Brighton has secured the most expensive transfer in the club's history
Brighton has opted to bolster their attacking line during the summer transfer window. The "Seagulls" have signed forward Georginio Rutter, who previously played for Leeds.
The club's official website announced that the 22-year-old Frenchman has signed a contract extending until the end of the 2028/29 season. While the transfer fee has not been disclosed, Leeds confirmed in a press release that the player’s release clause was activated.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the fee is approximately £40 million or €46.8 million, marking the most expensive acquisition in Brighton’s history.
Additionally, Brighton has made a formal offer to Scottish side Celtic for midfielder Matt O’Riley. While nothing has been agreed upon yet, discussions between the clubs are ongoing.
By the way, veteran, James Milner, set a new league record by becoming the first player to feature in 23 Premier League seasons.
