Celtic were without a head coach for only a short while.
Details: Today, the official page of Scottish club Celtic on social network X announced that 73-year-old Irish specialist Martin O'Neill has officially taken charge as the new head coach of the team.
Yesterday, Celtic reported that their now-former head coach Wilfried Nancy had left his position.

Martin O'Neill already led Celtic from October 28 to December 3, 2025, serving as interim head coach, but was dismissed just before Nancy's appointment. He also managed the club from 2000 to 2005.
Thus, Martin O'Neill returns to the position of Celtic head coach only 33 days after his previous departure.
O'Neill's contract with the Hoops runs until the summer of 2026.
During his career, the Northern Irish manager has been at the helm of clubs such as Wycombe, Norwich, Leicester, Aston Villa, Sunderland, Nottingham Forest, and the Republic of Ireland national team.
