Brentford midfielder Christian Nørgaard has become one of the Bees' key players, and at 31, he could be on his way to Arsenal. Normally, a club would be disheartened to lose one of its leaders, but that’s not the case with Brentford.

Details: The club’s sporting director, Phil Giles, confirmed Arsenal’s interest, stating that the transfer is already close to completion. While a few details still need to be ironed out, he’s happy that Nørgaard will have the chance to test himself at a top club.

Quote: “Arsenal have been in contact with us over the past two weeks regarding Christian — we’ve been in regular discussions with Andrea Berta. At this point, I think the move is more likely to happen than not, but we still need to go through the entire process and complete all the formalities — we’ll see how it ends up.

He’s been a tremendous player for us, simply outstanding. I’m genuinely happy for him — at 31, he’s earned the opportunity to compete for trophies at this stage of his career. The deal isn’t finalized yet, but we know that if and when he leaves, we’ll have a gap in leadership and will look to fill that,” Giles told Sky Sports.
