Chelsea continues to be active in the transfer market, now turning their attention to Brentford’s striker Ivan Toney.
According to The Telegraph, the "Bees" demand £50 million for their player. However, Chelsea has no intention of paying that amount and aims to close the deal for less. Additionally, should the "Blues" pursue Toney, he would need to accept a salary reduction due to Chelsea's strict wage structure.
Toney must consider this if he wishes to remain in the Premier League. Previously, it was reported that Toney was close to a move to the Saudi Pro League, with Al-Ahli showing interest and offering him £400,000 per week.
Toney missed most of last season due to suspension, scoring 4 goals in 17 Premier League matches. In total, he has 36 goals and 11 assists in 85 appearances.
In the first round of the Premier League, Chelsea lost 2-0 to Manchester City, but subsequently thrashed Wolverhampton 6-2 away.
