BREAKING! Oleksandr Usyk arrested at Krakow airport
World boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk has been arrested in Poland.
Details: Ukrainian politician and Olympic champion in 2020 Zhan Beleniuk on his page in Telegram said that the boxer was arrested at the airport of Krakow. At the moment, the circumstances of the incident are unknown.
The video, which appeared on social networks, shows Usyk leaving the premises in handcuffs accompanied by unknown people.
Most likely, the Ukrainian was in transit at Krakow airport. In a few months, on 21 December, Usyk's second fight against Tyson Fury for three heavyweight titles will take place. We can assume that the champion was going to go to his training camp.
Who is Oleksandr Usyk: In May 2024, Usyk won the title of absolute world heavyweight boxing champion. In the unification fight, the Ukrainian defeated the British Tyson Fury and became the first in the XXI century absolute world champion in heavyweight. However, until 1 June 2024 Oleksandr could not defend the IBF title, because he agreed to a rematch with Fury and gave up one of the belts. Thus, the second fight with Tyson will no longer be for the status of absolute world champion.
Reminder: Earlier, Usyk announced the start of training camp before the rematch against Fury.
