It seems "La Roja" has different plans for Yamal.
Details: According to renowned and reliable journalist and insider Fabrizio Romano on his account on social network X, Spain’s head coach Luis de la Fuente has decided not to include Barcelona’s star wunderkind Lamine Yamal in the starting lineup for the opening World Cup match against Cape Verde.
At this point, it’s still unclear why De la Fuente made this call, but fans fear Yamal might have picked up an injury that would prevent him from playing the full game.
Last season, Yamal featured in 45 matches for Barcelona, netting 24 goals and providing 18 assists.
At the World Cup, Spain has been drawn into Group H alongside Cape Verde, Uruguay, and Saudi Arabia.
