Cristiano Ronaldo could return to the Portugal national team as early as the November international break. Portuguese Football Federation president Pedro Proença said the team's management, coaching staff and players all want to see the star forward back in the squad.
The Federation, the coach, all the teammates are aligned: we want Cristiano back. I expect him back already during the November international break. Cristiano is also willing to return. He’s the best of all time, Proença said.
Recall that the conflict erupted after Ronaldo left the national team's camp in Copenhagen. The forward claimed that Jesus had violated an agreement regarding his playing time. After the public altercation, the footballer apologized to the fans and his teammates, but admitted that he should be punished for his actions.
On October 10, the federation launched disciplinary proceedings and suspended Ronaldo pending their outcome. His return in November is therefore not guaranteed yet: much will depend on the final decision of the disciplinary authorities.
