Atlético Madrid striker and French national team player Antoine Griezmann has decided to retire from international duty.
Details: The player stated that he is closing this wonderful chapter of his life and expressed gratitude to everyone for the memories.
To recap: Antoine Griezmann made his official debut for the French national team on March 5, 2014, in a friendly match against the Netherlands. He played a pivotal role in helping his team reach the final of the 2016 UEFA European Championship, where they were defeated by Portugal. Griezmann participated in all seven matches of the tournament, scoring six goals.
He also took part in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, playing in all seven of France's matches, scoring four goals, and helping his team secure the world champion title.
Additionally, he reached the final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where his team lost to Argentina in a penalty shootout.
It’s worth noting that Manuel Neuer recently announced his retirement from the German national team as well.
