Reports indicate that Tagliafico recently experienced severe pain in his left calf muscle, and after consulting with the coaching staff and medical team, the decision was made not to risk Tagliafico's health and to keep him out of the starting lineup for the opening match.
Previously, Leonardo Balerdi had to leave the Argentina camp due to injury, with Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi called up as his replacement.
At the World Cup, Argentina is drawn into Group J alongside Algeria, Austria, and Jordan.
