Roy Hodgson has resigned as head coach of Crystal Palace. This was announced by the club press service on the official portal of the London club.

In a statement, Crystal Palace thanked the coach for the work done, and also reported that the 76-year-old specialist is in hospital and his condition is stable.

The team will be managed by Paddy McCarthy and Ray Lewington in today's match against Everton in Liverpool.

But, new coach Oliver Glasner has already signed a contract with the club and will be present at Goodison Park and will have his first training session on Tuesday, according to Fabrizio Romano.

It will be recalled that last week Hodgson became ill at the team's training session and was soon taken to hospital.

This happened while the club accepted to terminate the agreement with the coach and appoint Glasner in his place.
