Chelsea loanee defender Ian Maatsen has made a welcome return to Borussia Dortmund and the German club would like to keep the Dutchman, but the Bumblebees are determined to save money on the buyout clause.
As reported by Rudi Galetti, the reigning Champions League finalist does not want to activate the clause spelt out in the £35million rental agreement. But, Signal Iduna Park are now working to tempt Chelsea to lower the price.
It is believed that the price tag of £27 million would be quite fair to buy out the Dutch defender.
Earlier, it was reported that Borussia have no priority buyout rights for Maatsen and will have to compete with Premier League and Spanish La Liga clubs to keep the 22-year-old defender.
