Borussia Dortmund are having trouble buying back a coveted player

Borussia Dortmund are determined to keep Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen, but the Bumblebees are having problems with the buyout of the coveted player.

According to the Daily Mail, the reigning Champions League finalists do not have a priority right to buy the 22-year-old and Borussia will have to be with potential suitors for the player in the general queue.

And those could emerge on the back of the Dutchman's successful performance at Seagal Iduna Park, as Maatsen has proven himself and is being watched by other Premier League and La Liga clubs.

But, it is not clear what attitude to the defender of the new Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca, so there is a possibility that the player "Stamford Bridge" and will not leave at all.

Maatsen's contract includes a £35 million kickback and Borussia are favourites to activate it.
