Borussia Dortmund centre-back Niklas Süle has not featured regularly this season, and the defender has now made a major decision regarding his career.

Details: According to an official statement from Borussia Dortmund, the central defender has decided to retire at the end of the current season.

Quote: “Niklas Süle will end his professional football career after the final matchday of the 2025/26 season. The 30-year-old defender announced this in the Spielmache podcast,” the statement read.

Süle began his career in the youth systems of Eintracht and Darmstadt 98. In the summer of 2017, he joined Bayern Munich on a five-year contract before moving to Borussia Dortmund five years later.

On August 31, 2016, Süle made his debut for the Germany national team in a friendly match against Finland.

Reminder: Liverpool are actively searching for reinforcements at left-back and have already identified one of their key transfer targets.
