The French club Bordeaux has announced that its case has been placed under conditional supervision by the DNCG, the National Directorate of Management Control overseeing club finances.
Details: In the club’s official statement, it was revealed that the team attended a DNCG hearing today regarding debts amounting to €94 million. Following the meeting, a suspended verdict was issued, and a final decision will be announced after the submission of an additional document. In the meantime, the club will remain under DNCG supervision.
What this means: DNCG supervision is a mechanism whereby the organization monitors a club’s financial health to ensure it can meet its obligations. While under supervision, the club may face restrictions on transfers, player salaries, and other expenditures until its financial situation stabilizes.
As a reminder, Bordeaux is currently competing in the Championnat National 2, the fourth tier of French football. This follows their administrative relegation in 2024. At present, they are leading the league.
