Boom! Who will replace Carrick at Manchester United? Here's the answer
Michael Carrick's future at Manchester United is becoming increasingly uncertain.
Details: According to insider indykaila, Manchester United have begun the process of identifying their next head coach, with former Germany national team manager Julian Nagelsmann emerging as a potential candidate. The source claims that senior figures at Old Trafford are already exploring a possible managerial change, although the club has not officially confirmed these reports.
Nagelsmann's representatives are reportedly willing to listen to Manchester United's plans and assess whether the project aligns with the German coach's footballing philosophy. However, no agreement or formal negotiations have been independently confirmed.
Meanwhile, according to indykaila, influential figures within the club believe Carrick does not possess the right technical profile to take Manchester United to the next level in the long term. The insider suggests that the Englishman's chances of remaining in charge are extremely slim.
The speculation comes amid a difficult start to the Premier League season. Following a 1-1 draw against Tottenham, Manchester United have collected just six points from their opening six league matches, recording only one victory.
There is one important correction to the original report: Nagelsmann is no longer Germany's national team coach. He left the position on July 3, 2026, and Jürgen Klopp officially took charge on August 15.
It is worth noting that Manchester United appointed Carrick on a permanent basis on May 22, 2026, handing him a contract running until 2028.
Reminder: Worst mark in 40 years! Manchester United have matched a historic Premier League low
