Ortega is ready to kick off a new chapter in his career in Greece.
Details: According to Florian Plettenberg, Stefan Ortega's move to Olympiacos is a done deal. The parties have reached an agreement and only the final formalities remain. The goalkeeper and his agent, Jörg Neblung, have already arrived in Piraeus, with a medical scheduled for the near future.
The German keeper is expected to sign with the Greek giants on a contract running until the summer of 2028. Ortega will join Olympiacos as a free agent, meaning the club won't have to pay a transfer fee.
Ortega's arrival should significantly increase competition for the starting spot in Olympiacos' goal. With vast experience at the top level, the German now gets a chance to become the first-choice goalkeeper for one of Greece's most decorated clubs.
It's worth noting that Olympiacos will play their first official match of the new season on August 4, hosting NEC in the Champions League. The return leg is set for August 11 in the Netherlands.
