Bobby Motaung: We are not yet replacing or filling the head coach position at Kaizer Chiefs until end of the Betway Premiership season
Bobby Motaung has dismissed suggestions that Kaizer Chiefs may announce a coach in the middle of the season.
At the moment, the Betway Premiership side are without a head coach after parting ways with Tunisian Nasredine Nabi.
Nabi’s assistant Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze have taken over the club as co-coaches and have guided the team to the fourth spot on the PSL standings.
While many are advocating for an official appointment of a full time coach, the club’s Football Manager differed with this notion.
“We do not want to disrupt the team by bringing in a new coach who would arrive wanting to do things differently from what we are currently doing,” said Motaung to South Africa's newspaper Isolezwe.
“Coaches want to implement their own ideas and come with their own technical teams.
“These two gentlemen [Youssef and Kaze] have been with the team from the beginning, and we are building on that foundation.
“We want progress, and I believe it is clear that the team is improving.”
