Big earnings: Rafael Nadal makes a profitable sale of tennis academy shares
Tennis legend Rafael Nadal has made a lucrative deal by selling a portion of his tennis academy shares, reports Sportowe Fakty. The Spaniard sold 44.9% of his academy’s shares to the investment company GPF Capital, earning nearly €95 million from the transaction.
The deal proved highly profitable, generating a 372.8% return. This is because Nadal's shares were valued at only €19 million three years ago. As a result, his total net worth now stands at €341.1 million, reflecting a 44% increase compared to 2022.
The Rafael Nadal Tennis Academy was founded in 2016 in Mallorca and has since grown into one of the largest sports centers in Spain. In addition to tennis courts, the facility includes a hotel, swimming pools, football fields, and an international school. The academy also has branches in Mexico, Greece, and Kuwait.
Nadal has emphasized that the primary goal of his academy is to develop future champions. The institution attracts both young tennis enthusiasts and top-tier players—Iga Świątek once trained there.
