Big comeback! Juventus close to signing star Ivorian midfielder on a free transfer
Juventus are actively working to strengthen their midfield and have set their sights on signing a high-profile midfielder.
Details: According to renowned insider Nicolo Schira, Turin's Juventus remain seriously interested in Ivory Coast international Franck Kessié, who is currently a free agent.
The club's management has already offered the 29-year-old a contract running until 2028, with a salary of €4 million per season plus additional bonuses. The midfielder himself is fully ready to make the move to Juve and looks favourably on a return to Serie A.
Bianconeri head coach Luciano Spalletti holds Kessié's skills in high regard and sees him as a key figure for his midfield. However, before finalising the transfer, the Turin side need to make room in the squad and optimise their wage bill—Juve are currently working on selling two midfielders.
It’s worth noting that Kessié spent the last three years in Saudi Arabia, leaving Al-Ahli in the summer of 2026 after his contract expired. In the 2025/26 season, the Ivorian featured in 26 matches for Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, scoring 5 goals and providing 4 assists. According to Transfermarkt, the midfielder's current market value is €12 million.
