The former AC Milan and Chelsea star is preparing a sensational return to English football—but this time as an owner.

Details: According to Sky Sports News, a consortium of investors that includes 36-year-old Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato is nearing a final agreement to acquire a controlling stake in English club Northampton Town.

Reports indicate that negotiations have reached an advanced stage, with both sides aiming to resolve all legal formalities in the near future. The potential new investors have already drafted a development strategy for the club and plan to invest in the team’s infrastructure.

It’s worth noting that during his playing days, Alexandre Pato turned out for clubs such as AC Milan, Chelsea, Villarreal, São Paulo, and Orlando City, as well as making 27 appearances for the Brazilian national team and scoring 10 goals.

Last season, Northampton played in England’s League One, but after a tough campaign, they finished at the bottom of the table and will compete in League Two this season.
