Betway Premiership side Stellenbosch FC interested in released Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Matlou

George Matlou is being courted by Betway Premiership side Stellenbosch FC.

The midfielder was released by Kaizer Chiefs this week as his deal at Naturena expires on Tuesday.

Gavin Hunt has emerged as a potential destination for the lanky 27-year-old Matlou as they worked together at Chiefs before.

Matlou is also not new to Cape Town as he was once in the books of Cape Town All Stars in the earlier stages of his career before moving to Johannesburg.

The move could herald a new lease of life for Matlou given that his career at Chiefs was punctuated by injury.

In the four seasons he spent there, Matlou only managed to amass 46 matches which was also the reason he was released.

But the interest from Stellies may thrown him a lifeline.
