Betway Premeirship side Sekhukhune United are looking at signing former Stellenbosch FC defender Athenkosi Mcaba to their team.

Babina Noko have set sights on the former youth international defender after he was released by Stellies as they prepare for next season.

His release at the Cape Winelands club comes after the club gave coach Gavin Hunt a contract extension.

Hunt now is said to be building his own squad and Mcaba is not in his plans.

While at Stellies, Mcaba made 72 appearances at the club winning the Carling Cup and he was also key when Stellies reached the Caf Confederation Cup semifinals in the 2024/25 season.
