Betway Premiership champions Orlando Pirates registers interest in Mamelodi Sundowns' discard Peter Shalulile

Betway Premiership champions Orlando Pirates have registered interest in Mamelodi Sundowns' discarded striker Peter Shalulile.

The Namibian striker left Sundowns upon the expiration of his contract at Chloorkop with talk he was interested in a move to North Africa.

But Pirates have now emerged as potential suitors for the speedy striker in the wake of striker Evidence Makgopa's desire to leave.

Makgopa had a decent World Cup with Bafana Bafana and clubs in Portugal and Sweden have been engaging his club, Pirates, for a possible move.

Now Pirates' interest in Shalulile stems from the possibilities of losing the lanky Makgopa.

Pirates have Yanela Mbuthuma after Makgopa upfront but the former Richards Bay FC man has established himself as a dependable striker for the Sea Robbers which is why they want Shalulile.

Shalulile is a well oiled machine when playing with good players around him.
