Betrayal! Nike in talks with UEFA over supplying balls for European club competitions
Nike is on the verge of a sensational agreement with UEFA.
Details: According to The Athletic, the world-renowned company Nike is close to reaching a deal with UEFA to supply match balls for the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, and the UEFA Super Cup.
Reports suggest that UEFA is ready to end its partnership with adidas in favor of a new agreement with Nike, aiming to create an entire market ecosystem based on this deal.
If the contract is signed, it will come into effect starting in 2027 and run through 2031.
Adidas has worked with UEFA for more than 25 years. Their first agreement dates back to 2001, and since then, adidas has supplied balls for all major club tournaments under the UEFA banner.
On social media, fans have already dubbed this a massive betrayal by UEFA.
