Bertrand Traoré is Burkina Faso’s leader in key metrics at the Africa Cup of Nations

Burkina Faso have qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, marking yet another appearance at the tournament, and their squad features a genuine leader.

Details: According to Opta, since 2015 Bertrand Traoré has been Burkina Faso’s leader in shots attempted at the Africa Cup of Nations. He has registered 53 attempts on goal across 18 matches. Over the same period, he has also scored five goals — the best tally in the team — and provided three assists, matching Issa Kaboré.

Burkina Faso will compete in a group alongside Equatorial Guinea, Algeria and Sudan.

A Nigeria international has also managed to replicate an achievement that had stood untouched for more than 10 years.
