A football veteran and the true cornerstone of the defense, Argentine player Nicolás Otamendi is leaving Benfica.

Details: According to several journalists, the 38-year-old Argentina national team centre-back and former Manchester City player, Nicolás Otamendi, has completed his move to Argentina's River Plate as a free agent.

The defender's contract will be signed until December 2027. Otamendi made 281 appearances for Portuguese side Benfica across all competitions, notching up 18 goals and 14 assists. With Benfica, he claimed four trophies: the Portuguese League Cup, the national championship, and two Super Cups.
