The FIFA Club World Cup continues to be disrupted by U.S. laws regarding outdoor sporting events.
Details: Today's round of 16 clash between Chelsea and Benfica was halted just four minutes before the end of regular time.
The reason is exactly the same as in previous matches at this tournament—adverse weather conditions. According to U.S. law, outdoor sports events must be suspended if lightning is detected within a 30 km radius of the stadium.
Both teams left the pitch with Chelsea leading 1-0. The only goal of the match came from a stunning free-kick by Reece James.
Reminder: Earlier today it was announced that Chelsea have finalized the signing of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens from Borussia Dortmund.
