Benfica still hasn't received an offer from Real for Carreras

Many insiders considered Benfica defender Álvaro Carreras’ transfer to Real Madrid almost a done deal, but in Lisbon, they see things differently.
Details: The Eagles’ president, Rui Costa, has stated that the club has yet to receive any offer from Los Blancos for the full-back, so it’s too early to comment on any potential moves.
Quote: “Let’s wait for them to make an offer first. We haven’t received anything so far. If they do, then we’ll see what happens,” Costa was quoted as saying by Marca.
Reminder: It was expected that Real would finalize the transfer of the 22-year-old defender before the start of the Club World Cup, but at that time, Benfica refused to let him go.
The player joined Benfica on loan in January 2024, after which the Portuguese club signed him permanently from Manchester United in the summer for €6 million.
Carreras has been outstanding for Benfica, scoring three goals in 32 league appearances this season and featuring in 10 Champions League matches.
