Thomas Tuchel will leave Bayern at the end of the 2023/2024 season and now the Recordmeister bosses are searching for his successor. That burden has fallen on the shoulders of new Munich sporting director Max Eberl, who explained how the process is going.

Jürgen Klopp has been heavily touted for the Allianz Arena, but the functionary told BLID that he won't be at Bayern, and here's why:

"I know what it means when you make statements like Kloppo, who said: 'I have no strength left'. Few people can appreciate that better than me, who has faced the same situation. When a person says that, the job comes second. The coach as a person comes first. And that's why I'm not calling him."

Eberl also revealed that there are "unusual candidates" on the list, but he did not name names, instead telling us what Tuchel's successor should be like:

"If I were to limit myself in terms of language, age or coaching background, it would be a mistake. We need a coach who will not stay for a short period of time, but who will work with us in the long term. This is an important axiom when we mean team planning and strategy. The frequent change of coaches in recent times has become a problem for the club."
