Bayern will refuse to sign Bayer midfielder

In October 2023, Bayer midfielder Florian Wirtz was thought to be one of Bayern's top transfer targets, but it seems that things have now changed.

According to Bild, the Recordmeister have now abandoned their intentions to sign the player and there are many reasons for this: the depth of Bayern's squad, their league position and the 20-year-old midfielder's wage demands.

Now the club offices are not working on signing Wirtz, realising the merits of the player, but realising that they will have to give at least 130 million euros for him, and that's without taking into account the salary.

The 20-year-old midfielder currently earns €7.5 million a year, with double that next season.

Wirtz has been linked with many clubs including Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City. So, it would be no surprise to see any of them make a big acquisition this summer.
