The situation surrounding Bayern Munich's central midfielder Leon Goretzka remains highly uncertain.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayern's new coaching staff, led by Vincent Kompany, has decided that Goretzka is not part of their plans. The player has been informed that other players are preferred in his position.

Despite this, Goretzka is determined to stay at Bayern and continue fighting for his place in the team.

Currently, Goretzka's representatives are in discussions with the club's management to find a solution that works for all parties.

Notably, Goretzka was not included in Bayern's squad for their first match of the season in the DFB-Pokal against Ulm, which ended in a 4-0 victory.

Goretzka joined Bayern in the summer of 2018 from Schalke on a free transfer. Last season, the 29-year-old midfielder played 30 matches in the Bundesliga, scoring 6 goals and providing 9 assists. In total, he has made 221 appearances, scored 40 goals, and delivered 46 assists for Bayern.

This summer, Goretzka was unexpectedly left out of Germany's squad for Euro 2024.
