Tottenham's central defender Eric Dier is on the verge of moving to Bayern Munich this winter.

According to Florian Plettenberg, the parties have reached a verbal agreement on the transfer. To finalize the deal, the clubs need to settle the remaining details.

Acquiring a new central defender was Bayern's priority this winter, given that Kim Min-jae is leaving for the Asian Cup, and injuries have plagued the Munich side throughout the season.

The 29-year-old Englishman joined Tottenham from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2014 for €5 million. In total, he has played 364 matches for Spurs, scoring 13 goals and providing 12 assists.

Dier's contract with Tottenham expires this summer.

This season, Dier has only appeared on the pitch four times.

Earlier, it was reported about Bayern's interest in Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori.
