Bayer defender Edmond Tapsoba has returned to the club after representing Burkina Faso at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. His national team was knocked out by Ivory Coast in the round of 16, losing 0-3. However, Tapsoba came back with more than just disappointment.
Details: Upon his return to Leverkusen, it was revealed that Edmond Tapsoba suffered a muscle injury and will be out of action for the next two to three weeks. The club will closely monitor his recovery process to ensure he returns to peak condition.
The Burkina Faso international is a key player for Kasper Hjulmand and, even before joining his national team for AFCON, had already featured in 22 matches for Leverkusen across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
Notably, Tapsoba played all four matches for Burkina Faso at the Africa Cup of Nations, finding the net once—back in the opening round against Equatorial Guinea.
Reminder: The Bundesliga clash between Hamburg and Bayer has been officially postponed.
