Bayer Leverkusen targets Man City talent McAtee. Will Guardiola let him go?
Following Martin Terrier’s severe injury, Bayer Leverkusen is actively searching for a replacement in the transfer market. Their latest target has been revealed.
Details: According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayer Leverkusen is interested in signing 22-year-old Manchester City midfielder James McAtee.
Bayer’s head coach, Xabi Alonso, is a fan of the young talent and has requested the club to arrange the transfer. The German champions have proposed a loan deal until the end of the season, with an option to buy.
However, Pep Guardiola is reluctant to part with McAtee. The City manager believes the midfielder has the potential to reach the level required for the starting lineup in the future.
This season, McAtee has appeared in 14 matches and scored 5 goals.
