Bayer Leverkusen Set to Offload Victor Boniface Amid Transfer Speculation
Bayer Leverkusen've reportedly decided to sell Nigerian forward Victor Boniface this summer, with the club setting a price tag of at least 50 million euro plus add-ons.
Leverkusen’s Decision to Sell
Despite Boniface’s strong performances earlier in the season, his role has diminished following injury that allowed Patrik Schick to reclaim a starting spot. Since returning, Boniface's struggled for game time, making just one start in 2025. His frustration's been compounded by disciplinary issues, including a heated altercation with teammate Emiliano Buendía during Leverkusen’s 4–1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Leverkusen's known for making a big sale each summer, and Boniface's market value presents an opportunity to generate significant revenue. While the Nigerian striker was close to 70 million euro move to Al Nassr in Jan, the Saudi club ultimately opted for Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran, leaving Boniface in limbo at Leverkusen.
Transfer Interest & Future Prospects
Several top European clubs have been monitoring Boniface’s situation and with his technical ability, physical presence and goal scoring instincts, he remains attractive target, Leverkusen appears firm in its decision to offload either Boniface or Schick with the Nigerian international being the likely departure.
Off the Pitch Controversy
Boniface's also made headlines off the pitch after reports surfaced that his long term relationship with Norwegian influencer Rikke Hermine Jensen ended due to financial disagreement. Reports claim that Jensen, who insisted on a prenuptial agreement before marriage, discovered that Boniface's assets were legally registered under his mother’s name, preventing any financial claims in the event of divorce. The revelation reportedly led to their breakup.
