Bayer Leverkusen prepare offer for Liverpool centre-back
After an incredible previous season, Bayer Leverkusen continues to strengthen their squad for the upcoming campaign.
According to Sky Sports, the German champions have set their sights on young Liverpool center-back Sepp van den Berg.
At this stage, Bayer has made an inquiry to Liverpool regarding the conditions for a potential transfer. The Merseyside club's response is that van den Berg could leave for a fee of €25 million.
If Bayer is unable to reach an agreement for van den Berg, the club may consider signing former Liverpool defender Joël Matip on a free transfer.
Last season, van den Berg was on loan at Mainz, where he scored 3 goals in 33 Bundesliga appearances.
It’s worth noting that Bayer Leverkusen kicked off this season by winning the German Super Cup, defeating Stuttgart in a penalty shootout to secure the trophy.
