Bayern continues its quest for a replacement for Thomas Tuchel, who will depart Munich at the end of the season. One of the prime candidates is Bayer's mentor, Xabi Alonso.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Spanish tactician is not averse to assuming leadership at Bayern and is open to negotiations.
However, securing the coach's services might come at a considerable cost for the Munich-based club. Sources suggest that compensating Alonso could range between 15 to 25 million euros.
Alonso's contract with Bayer includes a clause set at 15 million euros, but it won't take effect until the summer of 2025.
Previously, it was reported that Bayern is prepared to offer the Spanish specialist a staggering salary.
It's worth noting that at present, Bayer, under Xabi Alonso's guidance, maintains an eight-point lead over Bayern in the Bundesliga standings, with only 11 matches remaining in the season.
