Battle for a key midfielder! Manchester United preparing major bid for Barcelona star
Manchester United are seriously determined to reinforce their midfield and have already identified their top priority in the transfer market.
Details: According to El Nacional, the Mancunians are preparing an opening bid for Barcelona midfielder Gavi. The English club is planning to offer €40 million as a fixed fee plus another €15 million in add-ons, bringing the total value of the potential deal to €55 million. Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick sees the young Spaniard as the perfect addition to his midfield, preferring him over Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga.
However, the Catalan giants’ management considers the total valuation of €55 million to be categorically insufficient. It is highly unlikely that Barcelona will agree to part with the 22-year-old for such a sum, and the midfielder’s departure is only possible if he personally requests a transfer. Bayern Munich are also closely monitoring the situation, ready to join the race.
It’s worth noting that the Spaniard’s current contract with Barcelona runs until June 30, 2030, and the reputable portal Transfermarkt values him at €30 million.
