It’s worth noting that Jordan will be providing in-depth analysis of NBA games on the channel, with his official role described as a “special contributor.” However, it remains unclear exactly what part he'll play in the coverage of American league games.
"I’m thrilled to see the NBA back on NBC. It was such a significant part of my career, and I can’t wait to play a special role in this project. I look forward to reconnecting with all of you when the NBA premieres on NBC in October," said Jordan.
Just as a reminder, NBC held the broadcasting rights for NBA games in the 1990s, during the era when Jordan dazzled on the court. Now, after a 23-year hiatus, the company has reclaimed those rights by signing an 11-year contract.
Additionally, alongside Jordan, other former NBA stars will be joining the NBC team: Jamal Crawford and Reggie Miller will serve as commentators, while Carmelo Anthony will be working as a studio analyst.
