Baseball returns to the Olympics and will be held at the legendary stadium in Los Angeles
Baseball competitions were not held at the 2024 Olympic Games, but in Los Angeles, this sport will make its return to the Olympic program.
Details: The official USA Baseball page announced that in 2028, Olympic baseball games will take place at the legendary Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. This venue has hosted major baseball events in the US, including the 1984 Olympic Games when baseball was still a demonstration sport, and the USA team won silver.
Quote: "We are thrilled that Dodger Stadium will host the 2028 Olympic Games. This iconic stadium played a crucial role in baseball's initial inclusion in the Olympic program, and it's fitting that international baseball returns here. USA Baseball eagerly anticipates returning to Los Angeles and the opportunity to represent our nation on home soil," said executive director Paul Seiler.
The 2028 Summer Olympic Games will be held in Los Angeles (USA). The program includes baseball/softball, cricket, lacrosse, squash, and flag football.
Reminder: The International Olympic Committee decided to change the format of the football tournament at the 2028 Games, altering the number of teams in the men's and women's tournaments. The men's tournament will feature 12 teams, while the women's will have 16.
