The Olympic Games may not be the most popular tournament in the world of football, but they still attract a certain level of interest. And for football fans, unexpected news has emerged from the Games.

Details: The International Olympic Committee has decided to change the football program for the 2028 Games in Los Angeles by simply swapping the number of teams in the men's and women's tournaments. Thus, the men's tournament will feature 12 teams, while the women's will have 16.

The IOC is striving for gender equality at the Games, and in Los Angeles, women will have more licenses than men. In team sports, women will have at least an equal number of quotas as men.

Reminder: Spain became the Olympic champion in the men's football tournament, defeating France in the final, while the American women claimed the gold in the women's competition.
