Barcelona's leading defender has commented on his future at the club

Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has spoken about his future at the Catalan club. The Uruguayan revealed that the extension of his partnership with the "blaugranas" is progressing successfully.

"The extension of my contract is progressing well. After the season ends, we will meet with the club. I am very happy in Barcelona and will always give my all for this team until the end," quoted Araujo by Fabrizio Romano.

Ronald Araujo's future at Barcelona has been a topic of discussion lately. Despite the Uruguayan's contract running until 2026, he has been actively pursued by Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

In the current season, the 25-year-old Uruguayan has played 33 matches for Barcelona, providing one assist. He is a regular starter in Xavi Hernandez's team lineup.

Barcelona currently sits in second place in La Liga, trailing Real Madrid by 8 points. On Sunday, April 21st, the teams will meet in El Clásico.
