The Catalan giants may soon lose Rashford.

Details: According to journalist Neil Sola, the buyout clause for 28-year-old Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, which was agreed upon when he was loaned to Barcelona, has officially expired.

It’s reported that the mandatory purchase option was valid until the end of March. If not exercised by then, it would become void.

Earlier reports indicated that Barcelona had no intention of paying the €30 million release clause specified in the agreement and now hopes to either extend Rashford’s loan for another season or negotiate a lower transfer fee to secure a permanent move.

However, Manchester United remain skeptical about Barcelona’s negotiating stance and have already started searching for a new club for Rashford, despite the player himself openly expressing his desire to stay in Barcelona.

This season, Rashford has made 39 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 10 goals and providing 13 assists. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is estimated at €40 million.
