In January, Bayern Munich did express genuine interest in Barcelona's pivotal center-back, Ronald Araujo.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, the Munich-based club proposed €80 million plus an additional €10 million in various bonuses for the Uruguayan.

However, the Spanish champions did not entertain the idea of parting with Araujo during the winter transfer window. Consequently, Bayern had to address their defensive concerns by completing the transfer of Eric Dier from Tottenham.

It has been previously disclosed that Barcelona is willing to let Araujo go if he does not extend his contract, which expires in the summer of 2026.

In the current season, Araujo has featured in 28 matches for Barcelona across all competitions, scoring 1 goal. Overall, the defender has amassed 141 appearances for the Catalan side, contributing 8 goals and 3 assists.
